We speciliasie in SRS Airbag faults and have all the latest diagnostic equipment on site. The airbags in your car are a huge safety feature, and can save your life in a head-on crash. ... The airbags are part of the supplemental restraint system (SRS), which also includes your seat belts and is designed to protect you in the event of a major frontal impact (and even in side impacts, on newer vehicles) Common Airbag Faults: Faulty crash sensors – sometimes water ingress or corrosion. High resistance joints – this is especially common when we refer to the pretensioners. The multi plugs under seats can be very sensitive due to the resistence involved. Slight movement back and fourth of the seat can cause the plugs to break down. Faulty clock spring or ignitors – this is basically a copper ring at the rear of the steering wheel and can break over time. Faulty airbags – the airbag can become open circuit or the resistance can break down. ECU Crash Data – in event of an accident or due to a faulty unit the brain can fail which may need replaced or simply the crash data reset. We carry out all these functions.
AIRBAGS
Airbag Warning Light When turning on the engine, the airbag warning light should turn on and then turn off after a few seconds. If the airbag light remains on your airbag module will need to be reset. You can drive the vehicle with the airbag light on but the car airbags will NOT deploy should you be involved in an accident. M.O.T test centres require SRS (Airbag Lights) to be working in the correct fashion. You will fail your MOT if you airbag lights come on and stays on or if it does not come on at all.
MOT Preparation We have the latest MAHA MOT Testing equipment for Headlamp Alignment as used in local government centres.
